Festival volunteering for Anti-Slavery International

Workers Beer Company runs the beer bars and tents on all sorts of festivals in the UK. Organisations like Anti-Slavery International can send volunteers to pour and serve drinks in WBC bars, the Company then donates £6.50 to the parent organisation for every hour that their volunteers contribute. It's a fun way for activists to make money for their organisation's work.

The volunteers don't get paid, but they do get free entry to the festival, a couple of drinks when their shift is over, and when they are not working they can enjoy the music and the atmosphere of the festival. Where the event runs over a number of days the Company will provide a secure campsite with toilets, showers and a subsidised canteen and bar.

You are expected to work one six hour shift (shifts are usually 6 hours long but sometimes can be up to 8 hours and sometimes can be only 5 hours) a day. Free transport from London (and sometimes from other locations as well) is provided, coaches leave the night before the start of your work and come back on Monday morning. You have to take your own tent, sleeping bag etc.

If you are interested in this fun form of helping Anti-Slavery International or have any questions please conact Jakub Sobik by email on j.sobik@antislavery.org or by phone on 0207 501 8920.

Please note a desposit is required

Because it's crucial for our volunteers to show up (we will get charged the full festival ticket price and won't get any places for future events if you don't), we will take a £50 deposit from all volunteers before the festival. We will refund the money after we get a confirmation from WBC that all our volunteers worked all the shifts.

If you received the confirmation from Anti-Slavery International for any event please pay your deposit here.
