The Plantation Environment
This site is run by the Louisiana Department of Culture, Recreation and Tourism. Students can find examples and descriptions of the types of lodgings that the enslaved in the southern states of America were expected to live in. They are contrasted with the Greco-Roman buildings lived in by the slave-owners and their families.
